Carob Cake
Carob Cake. This delicious cake was a frequent guest on our table when I was a child.
Since the recipe is from the old days and the measurements are in cups. My cup is 200ml.
This cake has two variants, equally delicious with carob or with poppy seeds. Today I make it with carob because I prefer that taste.
It’s necessary :
– 2 eggs
– 1 cup of sugar
– 1/2 cup oil
– 1 cup of yogurt
– 1 cup carob
– 1 cup of flour
– 1 baking powder
– 1 vanilla sugar
And that’s all from groceries
The procedure is simple.
Beat the egg whites, add the sugar until it becomes firm and then the egg yolks. Slowly add the remaining ingredients, mix with a spatula and pour into an oiled and floured mold. Bake at 180°C (356°F) for about 40 minutes.
The cake is ideal as an addition to afternoon coffee or tea. It will delight all your senses because the smell is as irresistible as the taste
