Ingredients for shortcrust pastry:
– 300g of flour
– 10g of baking powder
– 80g of sugar
– 150g of butter
– A pinch of salt
– 2 eggs
– 1 teaspoon of vanilla flavoring
– 3 tablespoons of cold water
Ingredients for apple filling:
– 3 apples (about 700g)
– 100g of sugar
– 1 bag of vanilla sugar
– 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
– Juice of 1 lemon
– 50g of butter

– 12 halves of walnut kernels
– Powdered sugar

Procedure:
1) First we make the short dough.
Sift flour into a bowl to which we have added baking powder. Add sugar, a pinch of salt and butter. Knead with your hands to mix all the ingredients.
Add 2 eggs, vanilla flavoring and a little cold water. We knead until we get a smooth dough.
2) Separate 1/3 of the dough, wrap it in cling film and leave it in the freezer.
Leave most of the dough in the refrigerator for about 1 hour
3) Wash and peel three apples. We cut them into slices, and then into thinner sheets
4) Put the sliced ​​apples in the pan. Add sugar, vanilla sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice and butter.
We stew the apples for about 10 minutes until they soften and absorb all the other ingredients.
5) Roll out the larger part of the dough into a circle about 0.5 cm thick. Mark the circle precisely with a round tray, and remove the excess dough. Cut the edges of the dough about 2 cm and prick the middle with a fork. Fill with apples.
We join the cut edges of the dough as shown in the video. Put half a walnut kernel in each recess.
Grate a smaller, frozen part of the dough on a coarse grater and sprinkle the crumbs over the apples
6) Bake the pie in a preheated oven at 180°C (356°F) for about 40 minutes
7) Move the baked and cooled pie to a serving tray and decorate with powdered sugar
